  1. Students use language to understand, develop & communicate ideas and information and interact with others.
    Possible camp activities.
    Diary / Journals, letters requesting information, following instructions, letters of appreciation, reports on activities and tours, e-mail letters home, public speaking / concerts, communication games / activities, group problem solving activities, talking to new people, rosters and duties, listening during tour activities.

  2. Students select, integrate and apply numerical and spatial concepts and techniques.
    Possible camp activities.
    Costing and budgeting the camp, fundraising, measuring distances, fuel usage / economy, dormitory allocation of numbers, problem solving activities, orienteering, shopping.

  3. Students recognise when and what information is needed, locate and obtain it from a range of sources and evaluate, use and share it with others.
    Possible camp activities
    Letters requesting information, local tours, mapping, phone calls, working out prices, historical tours, internet usage and camp school web sites, camp booklets, information gathering, preparing post camp booklet.

  4. Students select, use and adapt technologies.
    Possible camp activities
    Diary / journal writing on computers, e mail letters and photos, video and photo presentations, technology camps, problem solving activities.

  5. Students describe and reason about patterns, structures and relationships in order to understand, interpret, justify and make predictions.

    Mapping, orienteering, team building activities, problem solving activities.

  6. Students visualise consequences, think laterally, recognise opportunity and potential and are prepared to test options.

  7. Students understand and appreciate the physical, biological and technological world and have knowledge and skills to make decisions in relation to it.

    Local history tours, Broome historical museum, Kimberley industry tours, outdoor education activities, beach education.

    Combined school camps, cultural based camps, life skill / leadership camps, aboriginal culture activities and tours, community visits, lote camps.

  10. Students participate in creative activity of their own and understand and engage with the artistic, cultural and intellectual work of others.

    Drama, concerts, discos, sketching and painting, problem solving activities, life skills development, video and photography, sand sculptures, music camps / subject camps.

  11. Students value and implement practices that promote personal growth and well being.
    Possible camp activities
    Living in a camp environment, camp hygiene, requirements for camp, first aid on camp, outdoor education activities, problem solving activities, team building activities, sporting competitions, dormitory competitions.
  12. Students are self-motivated and confident in their approach to learning and are able to work individually and collaboratively.

    Self-esteem building activities, collaborative learning, lows ropes course, climbing wall, team building / problem solving activities, rope climbing, cooperation games.

  13. Students recognise that everyone has the right to feel valued and be safe, and, in this regard, understand the rights and obligations and behave responsibly.
